We build one thing: short stories that move advanced English words from the words you recognise into the words you reach for.
The problem
Most people learning English past the intermediate stage have a large passive vocabulary and a much smaller active one. You read mitigate and know exactly what it means. Then you need it in conversation, and what arrives is make less bad.
Word lists and flashcards make that gap wider, not narrower. They train recognition, which is the half that already works.
What we do instead
Each story carries ten words through one continuous scene. The words are never defined and never glossed — they arrive in situations specific enough that the meaning is unmistakable and the phrasing is worth borrowing.
The ten words in a story are chosen to be unlike each other. Words from the same semantic field taught together cause durable cross-association errors, so a set that looks convenient is usually the wrong set. Every story is checked against those rules before it is published, and read by a person after that.
